Jason and I met in-person with Rapido design engineers when BART had their 50th Anniversary celebration last Fall in Oakland.

They are making a concerted effort for these models to meet both BART'S and the hobby market's expectations of authenticity and quality, with 3D modeling of cars from prototype analysis and access to BART's original schematics for their "A", "B" and "C" cars made available to Rapido.

I am optimistically hopeful that the finished product meets those expectations.

And yes, we have pre-ordered a set...

Very nice, but a 4 car train, without sound is $550 and with sound it is $750.
 So it ain't cheap.  Then you have to find a station, etc, if you want to do it up right.

Would be sort of out of place on the club layout without doing some work as you probably would't want it meeting a freight.
