[Accrs] Building New Entry structure

The sign will be made and defined by the fair. The point is to get more people to see us and increase the presence at the fair. So, Model Railroad is about all you really need, though I would love to add some form of “AMAZING”, but that is a bit gauche. However, I wonder if putting ACCRS or the logo up outside has real value as no one (OK, maybe 1 or 2% of fair attendees) knows what that means.

The signs will be 7’-9” x 2’. The reality is that with 10” high letters, “Model Railroad will only be 64” wide with the H/R ratio at .8. This should leave a 29” wide by 21” high space for a photo if we want. This would be like the current ones outside and the a-frames. Or we can just maximize and center the Model Railroad and let that be our draw. We could do a really wide font, but may be limited by the fonts the fair authorizes.

I will talk to them next week with Gary and close in the sign.

ACCRS doesn't indicate what is inside. ' Model Railroad' does. "Alameda County Central Railroad Society" sort of says it, but what?

    ACCRS
Model Railroad

That says it all. Both lines centered on the entry if there is room, would be nice.

Hi Phil,

Thanks so much for all your work on this. One suggestion. Shouldn’t it say ACCRS or Alameda County Central Railroad Society? I think that might be better than Model Railroad.

Paula

As you know, we have proposed and the fair has accepted building a new entry structure outside our north lobby. We are going to start this week with the sub-assembly process. Final assembly will probably be next Saturday at the fairgrounds.

I attached the plans. We need to do a bunch of drilling, some cutting, some painting, and other actions. If you are interested in participating, please send me an email.
