Folks,

Now that the holidays and associated time off has come to an end, our
proposal presented to Jerome (Fair CEO) right before Thanksgiving has
been reviewed by him.  He called a week ago yesterday wanting to set up
a meeting to further discuss the proposal.  At this point, it is
scheduled for Monday the 28th of this month.  There will be an update
email that evening to all members.

In the meantime, we have some work to do for the Great Train Show coming
up on March 23-24.  We are cleared by the fair for this show and the
registration form has been submitted to the GTS.  We are already
mentioned on their flyer about the show.  Last fair the fire marshal
submitted a short report to the fair maintenance folks with some
corrective actions for us to do.  We need to do away with an extension
cord running high over the front entry area inside the building.
Material to get it inside a conduit will be acquired this week along
with replacement "EXIT" signs for both doors.  We also need to do clean
up of both entry areas, try cleaning the years of goo off the concrete
floor, and paint several areas, including the kids viewing platform on
the "O" scale side.  Most of the pictures on the entry wall need to come
down and be replaced with some fresh material.

All of us are bummed out about the Fair's plans, however, let's not go
without a fight.  We need everyone to help when and where they can.
We'll have a better idea after the meeting with Jerome, how long we can
expect to be in the building.  In the meantime, we need to make our part
of the "show" as good and memorable as possible to make it difficult for
the fair to kiss us goodbye.  If anyone has additional ideas, please
speak up.  There is also activity in the wings to look into alternate
locations off the fair grounds if we indeed, have to move out.

Gary
