[Accrs] More photos - Train wreck

Backwards.
I don't know which photo you mean since there are quite a few, but he lead loco - In State of Washington Transportation paint - is on the ground to the south side of the bridge on Interstate 5.  Behind it are three or four cars leading up to the track, then there are two jack-knifed on the bridge and the last four going off the the north side of the bridge.  The trailing locomotive in Amtrak paint is still on the track.  All of the live camera footage at ground level was from the north of the scene facing south and from that angle does not allow for knowing direction.  The overhead - particularly if you look at the CNN footage where you can see the northbound lane as well as the south makes it very clear.
Interesting that there was enough momentum to jack-knife the two cars and then put more on the ground on the north side of the bridge.  That would be easy to understand if the rear unit was under power, but the early Amtrak press announcement says it wasn't.
Also either interesting (or disturbing) is how soon Google maps has the scene marked.

The latest photos I have seen, show a very damaged loco on theground.   It is different than the one in the photo.   That loco plussome of the cars went on the North side of the bridge.   The one shownhanging off is on the south side of the bridge.

Don't believe what you see on the news.  It has only been in thelast half hour Fox got the fact that the locomotive still on the trackwas trailing and not leading.  The others still don't know north fromsouth.   Must be nice to fail Jr. High School geography and still be anetwork anchor.
