This proposal is designed to enable a theme (the 150<font size="1"><span style="font-size:7.3pt;"><sup>th</sup></span></font> Anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad for 2019) as a focus for visits this year. A draft of an article to submit to local papers and the draft scripts for each of the proposed four RES stations is also attached. </div> <div> </div> <div>As I will not be able to be there for the meeting (going to the PCR Convention and at an operating session that evening in Sacto) and the remaining time to the fair, this will need to be approved at this meeting if we want to have it for the fair. It is critical to have new public engagement and this is much easier than trying to have members do it during the open houses (both labor and training). As both multimedia concepts do not require any active member involvement to engage when we are open to the public, they can be operated without impacting other activities (running trains, talking to the public, recruiting new members, etc. ).</div> <div> </div> <div>The proposal is to spend $570 for four computer controlled audio “Railroad Education Stations” with on-demand buttons and directional speakers for locational audio (like the prototype) and $400 for a video station for a total of $970.
