<html><head></head><body><div style="color:#000; background-color:#fff; font-family:times new roman, new york, times, serif;font-size:13px"><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_9087">Unless the Rock Island passenger train was defecting, I doubt the picture is from "around here". Looking at a RI system map, the possible overlap cities could be Omaha, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Dallas or very remotely Houston. I've lived in all of those cities except Houston and do not see anything in the skyline to make any of them seem to be the logical candidate. However, my perspective would be from the Safeway office and not the railyard. <br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_10040"><br></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_9630" dir="ltr">The piggy-back is quite strange. It obviously would not be for store delivery. Safeway did (does) do quite a bit of back-haul of product to minimize freight costs, but the concept is to pick up from a supplier because the truck was near by from a store delivery. That would mean it would have a cab and no need for rail delivery. They are refrigerated units as well, making the concept of piggy-back even more unlikely. Assuming the hidden trailer is also Safeway, there are at least five units on this train, again highly unlikely for product movement. <br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_11335"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_11336">THEREFORE, my guess (also considering the pristine paint as well) is that these are new trailers being delivered from the manufacturer. That would expand the possibility of location considerably to any Safeway location, the manufacture's location or any intermediate stop. The two buildings on the left have a unique structure on the roof and the double bridge to the right is another possible clue as to location. Most pictures on railpictures or other sites identify where the picture was taken. That may also provide an insight as to location and/or routing of these cars.</div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13248"><br></div><div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13249">Dennis<br></div><div class="qtdSeparateBR" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8054"><br><br></div><div class="yahoo_quoted" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8058" style="display: block;"> <div style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: 13px;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8057"> <div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8056"> <div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8055"> <font id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8060" size="2" face="Arial"> <hr id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_8059" size="1"> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13534"><span style="font-weight:bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13533">From:</span></b> Alameda County Central Railroad Society <accrs@mail.accrs.org><br> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13536"><span style="font-weight: bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13535">To:</span></b> "accrs@mail.accrs.org" <accrs@mail.accrs.org> <br> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13538"><span style="font-weight: bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_13537">Sent:</span></b> Monday, December 11, 2017 4:43 PM<br> <b><span style="font-weight: bold;">Subject:</span></b> [Accrs] Safeway Trailers in 1972<br> </font> </div> <div class="y_msg_container" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1513179665427_10122"><br><div id="yiv3822081839">
