<p class="MsoNormal">I came across this photo today of a CRI&P train with armed militia. I did a couple of searches and came across this lecture that that given by Gover Cleveland at Princeton University.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Interesting reading – The government got involved after the Southern Pacific complained to the US Post Master that they were not able to move mail up and down the Pacific coast. That escalated with the call for infantry, cavalry and
artillery being order to move into Chicago.</p>
