[Accrs] Update on Summit switch work and the Good-Guys passes

All,

Jere and I had done the initial work on Saturday, but we had an electrical
issue which we couldn't resolve in the time we had.  Wayne Toigo and I spent
4 hours there today and sorted everything out.  New switch is installed and
a new short piece of connecting track at the end of one of the legs.  The
piece replaced was probably the source of derailments.  Wayne sorted out the
electrical issue so we're good to go.  BTW, the old brass wire cranking
linkage for throwing the switch was replaced with a single steel wire in a
3/8" inch hole in the sub-roadbed which is the way the Tortoises were
designed to work.  Simple.  No monkey motion.  

 

I will be picking up the Good-Guys passes either tomorrow or Thursday so
distribution will be Friday night.  If that doesn't work for you, contact me
to make other arrangements.  

 

The Fair is working up the agreement for the HVAC system and I was told it
should be ready for our review sometime this week.

Due to work being done on the Summit switch, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO RUN ANYWHERE
NEAR THE BLOCKS INVOLVED and do not turn them on.  Maintenance should be
completed on Tuesday.
