The Coast Division of the NMRA is hosting a trip to the California State Railroad Museum and the NMRA "Magic of Scale Model Trains" exhibit at the museum. You are welcome to go, even if you are not currently an NMRA member. If you are going to go, please register for free admission to the museum below. If you are interested in going, do this tomorrow as the names have to be submitted to the CSRM on Friday.
This coming Saturday will be the trip to the California State Railroad Museum and a guided tour of the amazing NMRA exhibit. This is a great opportunity to visit the museum and get a guided tour of the NMRA "World of Scale Trains" exhibit at the CSRM. Charlie Getz will be joining us to do a guided tour of the NMRA exhibit starting around noon. The formal dedication of the NMRA exhibit will be on July 31st, so this is a great time to visit.
NMRA members (and invited guests) registering to participate ahead of the event will receive free admission to the CSRM. To be on the list for free CSRM admission, please fill out the form HERE<https://forms.gle/degVV1JF26rgyc3m7>.
If you would like a train ride to the event, we will be traveling to Sacramento on the Capital Corridor Train 724, arriving in Sacramento at 11:10 AM. It is a short (1/4 mile) walk from the station to the museum. If you are taking the train, use the Capital Corridor site and you can get two adult (not senior) tickets for the price of one using the code "V405". Joining the train at Martinez is both the most cost and time effective.
After the NMRA Exhibit tour, you are free to spend more time in the museum. If you would like to stay for dinner in Old Sacramento, return trains leave at 2:55, 4:55, 6:55, 7:55 and 8:55.
