I did not have that font on my machine and when I looked for Zephyr I got some really weird fonts, but I found this California Zephyr font set on line, is that what you were referencing? http://www.fontspace.com/joey-lopez-design/california-zephyr - it is a free font.

Here are four options, three use the Cal Zephyr font for the ACCRS and one is Railroad Roman. Personally, I like the Zephyr for the ACCRS letters as it is much more visible at distance. I find the small letters in 1 to be a little sloppy and fuzzy, 3 is better with caps, but it is still a little fuzzy to my eye. I decided the Cal Zephyr was good for the ACCRS, but looked for an alternative font for the smaller lettering that would be more legible at medium distance. I found a serendipitous font, “Bahnshrift”, literally railway or track font in German. I think it is really clean and the combo seems good in all caps. Makes it look formal as the railroads would have a few years ago before the logos got cartoony and colorful. Sober and safe.

Note, I could only find these, but the idea is to have SP, WP or UP (or BNSF or Santa Fe) engines as the background.

This is an image of a stamp that honors railroad engineers with the ACCRS imposed. Note it is a 3 cent stamp, they were active as primary postage from 1932 to 1952.  Based on the combination of steam and early diesel power, it is probably from the late 40s.

I am thinking we may want to have an ACCRS logo for external club identity as well as an ACCR logo that can be used for rolling stock.  The point is to make the ACCRS identity about the historical focus. This wil help us as we try to emphasize our educational and historical value to the community.
