Quick Answer
I have several locos with Loksound decoders. I like them a lot. I
may have one or two that were purchased with LokSound, but I believe
those that I have, I installed myself. I can't remember. LocSound
Select HO scale.
Never downloaded or updated the sound files. Guenther Hossnar has
supplied my decoders. He has the programmer and all the sound files.
Anyone who wants to try LocSound should talk with him. He has good
prices and will put your loco sound on the decoder when you get it. He
also got me the new European style 21 pin decoder to put in a Fox Valley
GP60. More of these 21 pin decoders will eventually start showing up.
I think that Stephen Priest, Editor of Model Railroad Craftsman may have
standardized his large home layout with LocSound decoders. He had to
pick between that or SoundTraxx. He isn't telling.
