This will be one of the largest gatherings of privately owned,
ex-military vehicles in North America. See military bicycles, scooters,
motorcycles, jeeps, small and large trucks, armored personnel carriers,
tanks, deactivated artillery, boats, and probably helicopters - any era
and nation of origin. We expect between 200 and 300 vehicles in three
categories: Judged, Display Only, and For Sale. Celebrate the 75th
Anniversary of the Jeep! Meet experts who can answer questions about
vehicles and veterans who can describe what it was like to drive or ride
in them. There will be a large vendor show featuring vehicle parts,
tires, paint, uniforms, field equipment, medals, insignia, radios, and
other military collectibles and artifacts. Several seminars are planned
to include US Navy Patrol Boat River, Carter jeep carburetors, and 1940s
hair and makeup styling. Special displays will include Military Dodges,
Internationals, Halftracks, and WWII British Desert Special Forces.
MVPA members normally pre-register military vehicles for display but it
is possible for MVPA members OR their guests to register and display a
vehicle the morning of the show. There is NO CHARGE for Display Only
vehicles. Only MVPA members may enter a vehicle for judging.
A vendor does not have to be a MVPA member. See the website in February
2016 for vendor, registration, and membership information.
Commercial marketers interested in our demographics may sponsor this
event. Contact Marketing Committee Chairman John Neuenburg at
415-847-2801 or in_garage at hotmail.com for more information.
The Military Vehicle Preservation Association is a non-profit Missouri
corporation that organizes regional clubs of members dedicated to the
acquisition, restoration, preservation, safe operation, public
education, and display of historic military transport. Certain
activities during this show are for MVPA members only, such as offsite
excursions, dinners, and meetings. All interested persons are welcome to
join the MVPA - vehicle owner or not. See www.MVPA.org for convention
details and updates starting in February 2016.
The hosting organization is the Military Vehicle Collectors of
California, a non-profit California corporation. This is the largest
regional historic military vehicle club in North America and one of the
oldest. MVCC info can be found at www.MVCCNews.net.
