A new Circuitron switch machine is now available. It caught my attention when I read that it has an integrated micro-controlled and speaks DCC.

It requires an initial program setting for the Id Address like any DCC device, but you have to connect to the DCC bus, press a button on the board, wait, use your controller to see the address, then disconnect the power. (per instructions, but I think you can power from DCC buss) So you only have to do this once - unless there is a technical glitch. Then good luck crawling under the layout to press that button.
Surprises me that if you are going to the effort to put a micro-controller in the design, why not make it always DCC connected and remotely programmable.
Take a look and see what you think.
