Wayne and I had a conversation about the budget and what drives it. We looked at every item and evaluated whether it could be changed or reduced. The idea of putting the CA/CC drivers in the switch stand eliminates the need for special
component to do that at the core. I can go through this next Tuesday, but adding in a 66 block or a RJ-45 termination adds significant per Cat5 cost. Adding an RJ45 termination adds about $5 per Cat5 and uses a complete pre-terminated CAT5 cable at about
$5 average more than using bulk cable with one installed terminator. At $10 per Cat5 for those and 245 Cat5s, it adds $2,450 to the budget. While it is not as elegant, we can do screw terminals on the SMini molexes directly to the Cat5 bulk wiring and save
that cost. The design should be simple.

The other major item to discuss is the DC/DCC relays. The 20 (or maybe less) Detector panels and the 2/4 DC siding block relays will need a contact capable of at least 5 amps (discuss). The ones for the turnouts that are bypassed or controlled
during DCC (I counted 29) can all be low power through hole packages. We may want to consider building a board for the turnouts that includes the relay.
