[Accrs-o] EMD B-B Truck Brake Cylinders

Below are some photos of the variations I've seen in brake cylinders used on these trucks.  Markings show WABCO and New York Air Brake and others I don't recognize.

On the EMD drawing the brake cylinder is labeled as 9x8.   There is no detailed drawing provided in the collection of EMD drawings for the brake cylinder.

Modeling possibilities – clearly there are multiple configurations.  There are at least three side frame markings: EMD, LFM,  Dofasco (Canada).  Then you have multiple vendors for the brake cylinders - you can even have a situation where there is a mix of WABCO and NYAB on the same truck.

This will have to morph into vendor specific configurations - WABCO and NYAB are the two best options.

At some point will probably need to gather some field dimensions to conform lengths and widths.

Now that you've seen this,  take another look at previous models to see if these features are included.  I know on the Athearn HO model there is only  one brake cylinder orientation provided so one will have the brake lever appear upside down.

Did you notice these bolts?   The shape of these bolts date back to at least the Westinghouse combined freight brake of the 1890's.  The cylinder casting has flat sections to allow the bolt to seat on the flange- some of the flat sections extending all the way across and not clearly visible.
