All the air handling vent units have been installed. There is a problem with one of the outside units, which is preventing half the system from working, but that will be fixed. There are a couple remote controllers mounted near the refrigerator that operate the system.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> I’ll be producing some documentation and a system operation sheet as soon as the Fair provides some additional information.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Goodguys Show<o:p></o:p> Our next show is the Goodguys on <s>Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9</s>.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Current Projects<o:p></o:p> Jorg summarized our current projects.<o:p></o:p> <ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc"> <li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Jere is still working on a prototype for a new signal system.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Gary wants to work on a “Flying Saucer” scenic item.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">JR pointed out that the Trolley system needs attention and will work with Wayne and others to get that operational again.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Jamie is heading up the effort to cleanup the underside of the Port area.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Mason is heading up the effort to cleanup, repair, and improve our layout scenery.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo3">Wayne is heading up DCC / DC improvements and replacing one of our monitors (see below).<o:p></o:p></li></ul> <o:p> </o:p> Please let Jorg know if there are other projects that need to be done.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> General Cleanup<o:p></o:p> We need a full cleaning session for not only our layout area, but also for the entire building itself. The 3rd Friday of each month will be dedicated to classes, as well as scenery cleanup and general maintenance.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Training Classes<o:p></o:p> Expect more Training Classes this year. There are lots of topics to be covered.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> DCC / DC Improvements<o:p></o:p> We approved the purchase of some additional NCE DCC Boosters and another DCC Command Station. These units will be kept as backup devices in case of a failure. Also, we will begin purchasing new NCE handheld controllers to replace the ones that have become unreliable. In addition, the electrical team will be testing and replacing all DCC controller cables, and testing and repairing the DCC ports that have become inoperative since the Fair.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> The DC (analog) system needs a lot of attention. Several of the DC power supplies are underpowered and operating poorly. The goal is to get our DC system fully operational this year.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> Dispatcher Monitor<o:p></o:p> One of the overhead video monitors, near the Dispatch panel, has failed. We approved the purchase of a couple new monitors, so that they will both look the same. The other working monitor will be held as a backup unit.<o:p></o:p> <o:p> </o:p> HO Operating Rules<o:p></o:p> Jorg reminded us that during shows we must all follow the HO Operating Rules.
