This might seem to be a simple question and I might just be asking something that would occur naturally if I programmed my DCC consist correctly.

Question: Suppose that I have 2, 3,4, or more DCC locos with sound decoders. Now suppose I want to run 2, 3, 4 or more in a consist. Will the consist pick up sound on all the locos or just on the one that is programmed as the lead loco. I think it would pick up all those with sound but I am not sure. For a long train, the sound locos many be in the lead and could also be in a helper set further back in the train as helpers.

I think all the sound units would emit sound. Probably only the lead unit would sound a horn or bell. Can any of you answer my question. It just may depend on how you program each loco.
