<div>Hello All,</div>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Thank you for coming out last Friday to make the evening a
memorable success for the Cub Scouts.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I would count the evening as a quick fair preview - a couple of
observations and thought from my side:</div>
<div>* After initial quirks the new laptops work to run the
JMRI/phone connections.</div>
<div>* If the monitors are dark, use the remote controls in the
computer drawer under the control panel to switch them on.</div>
<div>* Close the glass panel to protect the trains and small hands...</div>
<div>* Have a dedicated dispatcher at the panel right from the
beginning to coordinate the train movements (of course the dispatcher
can be changed later.)</div>
<div>* Set up shorter consists to get trains running on the layout at
the beginning of a show. </div>
<div>* Shoot for trains getting out of the yard about 15 minutes
before the opening time. This way they are well spaced on the layout
when the doors open. </div>
<div>* Extend the initial consists or setup longer trains as part of
the layout action. - Let's talk about during our next Friday meets.</div>
<div>* When setting up passenger trains in the passenger station
please make sure you stay within the length of the track section, so
other trains can get around you. That may necessitate then train to be
shorter than you like.</div>
<div>* If your DCC engines are stuttering despite having clean
wheels, check old consist setups in the throttles. They may have not
been deleted and interfere now with the proper operation. Use a NCE
Throttle: on the bottom you find the DEL button, use it to delete your
engine from old consists.</div>
<div>* Please check your train consists for proper coupler heights
BEFORE the Good Guys and County Fair. Adjust as needed.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
