<p class="MsoNormal">Athearn has revised the design of the SD40T-2 model – they redesigned the rear trucks so you get more of the see-trough screen effect. They are planning to release an ‘upgrade’ kit which will consist of new frame design, new rear truck
design and new, shorter, drive shaft. They did not provide me a date when that would be available, but probably will coincide with the delivery date or shortly afterwards. They still need to work out parts numbers, packing and pricing.

<p class="MsoNormal">FYI – the Cotton Belt and Southern Pacific new locomotive deliveries (some) came across the Rock Island Lines heading south. I’ve heard stories that the RI mgt would put the locomotives on trains heading back to Chicago once they got south.
Then the SP mgt had to call and demand that they get delivered.</p>
