ACCRS HO Members,

We had a relatively quick club meeting this month, partially because of the cold, but mostly because it’s our slow time of year.

Here are the minutes from this month’s HO business meeting.

Membership Dues
Thanks to everyone for renewing their yearly dues. We’ve only lost a couple members this past year, but have gained several new members. Expect a new ACCRS club roster soon.

Skills Training Classes
We had a very successful soldering training class last month. Thanks to all those who attended.

The next skills training class will cover “How to Maintain Your Rolling Stock”. The class will be on Friday, February 16, beginning at 7:00 pm.

We are still planning on having a “Weathering and Graffiti” class at some point in the future.

Preliminary Member Participation
We want to remind everyone that preliminary members (non-members) may only run trains on our layout with the specific permission of an HO member who is present at the time. If you give permission for a preliminary member to run, you assume responsibility for that person and their operation.

Driving on the Fairgrounds
We’ve had a couple reports of folks driving too fast on the Fairgrounds. The speed limit on the Fairgrounds (inside the Fairground gates) is 5 MPH. We know that’s pretty slow, but the grounds are mostly used by Fair employee pedestrians and slow-moving vehicles. We must observe the Fairground rules for everyone’s safety.

Electrical Team
We are continuing to work on the replacement of a couple failing turnouts. I have no update on those repairs at this time.

Additionally, we approved the purchase of a small “spare parts” inventory that the team can use for future problems and upgrades. Wayne will manage those purchases.

Special Recognition
Lastly, the Assistant Trainmaster’s Special Recognition Award goes to Nicholas Bursley for his outstanding ability to withstand the cold weather inside our building. He had on shorts and no coat and never made a complaint. Way to go Nick! We’re all envious.

Wrap-up
Thanks to all and please let Jorg or me know if you have any other questions, ideas, or suggestions.

-Wayne
ACCRS HO Assistant Trainmaster
