[Accrs-ho] ACCRS HO-scale Meeting Minutes - 08/02/24

ACCRS HO Members,

Here are a few quick notes from this month's ACCRS General Meeting and the minutes from the HO business meeting.

General ACCRS Meeting


  *   There was no Treasurer report this month (John was not present). Also, we are still waiting for full attendance numbers from the Fair, so that we can compare our attendance over the previous years.
  *   The Annual Summer BBQ has been moved to Friday, August 16, due to conflicts with scheduled Fair events.

  *   The next event is the Good Guys show, from Friday, August 23 through Sunday, August 25. Our official open hours are 9am - 4pm.
  *   The installation of the new HVAC has slowly begun. It may take a while for installation to be fully complete, due to higher priority projects on the Fairgrounds. It probably won't be done before the Good Guys show.

HO Scale Meeting


  *   From Jorg and myself, thanks to all who participated in this year's Fair. On balance, this was another successful Fair, with our share of great trains, gremlin problems, very hot weather, and a lot of good times and good food. (Did you see that 100oz. Lemonade mug?!?) Thanks to all!
  *   We still need shift signups for the Good Guys show. Please respond to Jorg's signup email or contact him directly if you can participate.

Also, we are trying to determine interest in operating on Friday. The O scale folks have indicated that they will operate on Friday. If you are interested in running on Friday, please contact Jorg.
  *   We're working on installing a DCC Programming Station in the downstairs Tower room. Details and instructions when it's operational.
  *   Jorg and I would like to thank everyone for using the Cleaning Train during Fair. As a reminder, do not to take apart Cleaning Train or use the cars separately.
  *   The problem encountered during Fair with the turnout on the Freight main at the exit of the Freight Yard has been fixed. As a note, there is still an intermittent problem with the seldom used 30° crossover pair in this area. Depending on conditions (heat?), you may need to use the "bypass" through the Freight Yard. This will be repaired soon.
  *   We are trying to get everyone signed up on Groups.IO so that everyone receives all email messages from the club. If you or someone else in our club is not signed up, please contact me for instructions. Groups.IO is the only way we can guarantee that you receive all email.
