Dean,  John K and I had a talk recently about the matter of losing the building to the new management then having to find somewhere else to establish.  John spoke to me about if the city of Pleasenton would grant land off a park then connect with building contractors to build us a building on the land as a charity write off for them and then lease the land from the city for a nominal cost then the club will have somewhere else new to go.  I am for it. I detest the sharp radius' on the layout and also detest the rediculous grades throughout the layout.  Many railroaders already know the recommendation for grades on model trains is 2% max.  The club has 4 and 6% grades how detestable is this?   And the best radius for curves is 36 degree curvature. This is where I stand with the whole matter and my peace.  Gary B

 Hi Tony,
When you come in one of the next Fridays let’s catch a couple of folks and some equipment and check the area out for your mentioned problems.
See you soon,Jorg

I noticed several 89’ Autoracks and 85’ passengers uncoupling events yesterday – I saw this happen while running 3 DD40X running together back in 2019.  IIRC,  it was going around Jamestown.   The problem to me is part track work specific to 80+ foot cars or engines.

The suspect areas are grades, curves and transitions.
