I think we should still make our own ACCRS Id badges with name and home RR logo – the size and style you get at tech conferences.

The digital stuff is the same as last year, which was an improvement. The “twist” this year was throwing in the 8 hang tags for parking at the last minute. Not a big deal. Maybe she had them in her desk drawer. Who knows. It’s the fair and nothing is easy. Gary

I bet the new idea sales pitch to the county fair operations staff was perfectly clear. 😂

Subject: [accrs] Digital passes for the Fair

All,
The passes for Fair entry and parking are digital as they were last year.

There are two kinds of passes with a slight twist on one:

  1. First, we have 30 digital single day admission passes and 30 digital single day parking passes to start with. We need around 70 and those will be supplied after the first weekend of the Fair. The Fair provided an excel spreadsheet having two tabs with the individual links (one for parking and one for admission). I will need to send individual links to each member. For example, if you signed up for 5 days, you will get 5 entry links and 5 parking links in an email from me. These links can only be scanned one time. DO NOT FORWARD TO ANYONE ELSE!!!

One small glitch on the additional parking passes for this group is that Melissa is supplying 8 “Lot L“ hang tag parking passes in lieu of digital parking passes. She identified 8 people on our list needing 4-6 parking passes which will cover 38 parking ‘events”. I figured out which ones she picked. Those people are:

Ed Carreno

Tony Long

Chad Linke

Jordan Hamilton

Garon Michealis

Jim Hague (O and HO combined)

Bruce Jalin

(That leaves one extra hang tag since she was also counting Alejo Carreno.)

If you are on this list, you will need to pick up your hang tag tonight at the club or make arrangements with me or you trainmaster for pick up. BTW, Lot L is out by Gate 12 near the off track betting building. You can either walk in from there or ride the frequent shuttles. Many of you already do that.

A few items to keep in mind:

  * Once the recipient clicks on the link received, a ticket with a QR code will open. You can do one of three things:
     * Take a screen shot of the ticket from their smartphone
     * Save the ticket to their apple wallet on their smartphone
     * Print the ticket from a computer
  * Tickets are to be valued as cash. It is important that recipients save their ticket(s) as soon as they are received.

  1. The second category of entry passes are what’s referred to as “Season Passes” which also cover parking. These passes have been assigned to the 20 people working the greatest number of shifts. We were limited to 20 of these passes. Those folks on that list will receive a link and password. Keep in mind after the password is used 20 times, the link will no longer work, so YOU CAN ONLY SIGN UP ONCE. IF YOU SIGN UP MORE THAN ONCE, YOU WILL MESS IT UP FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

Finally, I will be sending out the digital stuff starting this weekend. So, watch your emails. As mentioned above, all the single day digital passes won’t be available until after the first weekend of the Fair. So another tranche will go out at that time. Let me know if you have any questions.
