[Accrs-ho] City Lights - question

I think there are still some city lights not on. There were three plugs in the power strip, but one cord was too short to plug into the new strip where I located it. When I got home my wife asked about the Gulf station and I had to admit I thought that light was still out but was not sure, and the back row of buildings was definately unlit. But I don't know if the have lights in them or not. The unplugged cord looked to have a transformer on it.
The station platform lights are on a switch under the passenger yard panel, which somebody discovered last night. If we turn off the main layout power and leave the sub-systems on we can avoid the problem of people not knowing where the sub-system switches are located. When people turn off the sub-systems first it means the next day's crew needs to figure out where the switches are located.

That's good news. Did you figure out the station platform lights?

IT WORKED. I put i a new power strip and it worked. The new strip is, however, lying on the floor and the old one is unplugged with the cord wrapped around the layout leg. Perhaps one of the electrical gurus can tidy that up (although I do want my cord back eventually) and determine if the problem is the power strip or the wall plug. I used a different plug but didn't have time to try other things in the old outlet.

I didn't see any fans, but if you mean the surge protector hanging on one of the layout legs which is plugged into an outlet on the wall of the tower it does not respond to the reset button. I tried several times without it working.
Will a new surge protector fix the problem? I'll get one in the morning and bring it in. It is senior day, so I won't need a pass.

Its a power strip under the city which has a big gray power supply with fans on it. Just switch the power strip back on.
The station lights are on their own apparently, they are plugged in to a regular outlet with a 3 way splitter located at the north east of wills point. I forgot what I did to reset it. Just follow the cord and see where it goes and turn whatever is off back on again.
Thanks-Joel

We had no lights in the engine terminal area last night. Never figured out that one. More significantly, Cab 3 doesn't work. BTW, where exactly is this surge protector?

The power supply for the city lights isnt on because the surge protector is off. You have to crawl under the layout to the new power supply and turn on the surge protector. I think its one of those kinds that is off by default so you have to do it every time. Should be replaced with a normal surge protector. Thanks -Joel

I was on the last shift yesterday. I noticed that while we had the
storm running there were no lights on in the city. It might not matter
normally, but with the new scavenger cards, it makes it hard to find the
burning building and the camp fire in the hobo camp. Are the lights
operational or were they just left off by mistake. I have not ever
done anything to turn them on as they usually came on when the layout
was powered up.
