[Accrs-ho] Facebook Public Info Page and Website Update

Thank you Paula. Yes, that would be the idea.
Dennis, I got so many mixed opinions about the private group, one of which was that people would share updates in that group instead of the email list and members that are not on Facebook would miss it. The public business page would be completely different. If you took a look at the sample page that the Sacramento club has that I sent, they post about when they have ops sessions and are open to the general and also have a way for the public to send them messages, which is a great (and free) tool for potential new members to contact them. It would be the same for us. Potential new members could see some photos we post from events and ops sessions and contact us and the public in general could see when we are open for events. The public info page would also be easier to monitor. I spoke with many other members who actually seem like they would prefer just the website update and the public info page as a start and leave the private group for a later time.

The intent is to make it easy for others to see what we are doing and become interested. It would be used to publicize our shows, etc. Most every business or group these days makes use of FB/social media to speak to potential clients, members, etc. This is a marketing tool where the private FB group would be more for comments/collaboration/sharing with other members. In my opinion, we need an updated website and at least a FB page. I think it is a good idea. These are zero cost ways to advertise our club.
