[Accrs-ho] Joel - wish me luck

This also pointed out that the port area dispatch and power panel has been compromised by the wiring of the extended Interurban section through the port area.

When I designed and built the panel and did the all the wiring for the new port area, it was intended that the port area be entirely independent from the mainline, so that "switching" activities could take place in the port area. This used to be a key activity during major shows like the Fair.

It now seems that the extended Interurban section is using power from the port panel rather than using the separate Interurban circuit entirely. This means that when using the Interurban loop, the port area cannot be operated independently (as the entire panel must now be set to "Main" rather than "Local").

After Fair, I'll try to get back in there and re-wire that section of the Interurban to use the regular Interurban circuit instead of the port circuit. That way we can use the port area independently again as it was intended.

There were a number of members at the club yesterday getting ready for the fair. Wayne took a look and discovered the switch was flipped to local versus main. We switched back to main and it seemed to work fine.

Joel

Thanks for willing to take a look. Paula indicated that it seems to be Ok now.
Rail joiners are not a great method of insuring rails are powered unless they are soldered. When you do this you lose the expansion capability and run risk of getting a heat kink in the track work. If done correctly, drops are the way to go.

It's probably that rail joiner again. I'll add some drops.

Joel

When you come (and assuming we do not get to it) could you look at an issue reported on the inter urban line. It has been reported that the track is dead on either side of the bridge ( draw bridge?) Gary and I have not had a chance to look at this.
Thanks

Andy:

Your beginning to worry about the fair sign ups, which you said you wouldn't.

I'm sure there are people who will help you out.

The fair hasn't even begun yet, so there's plenty of time to go to sign up. Who says, that someone won't sign up as the fair is running?

I'm sure that Barbano, Kinder, and Synder, if they still are members won't help you; however.

HO Members,
I have the privilege of working shifts 2 and 3 on July 4th
at the fair solo. I think I can run 2 trains during that time
with little problem. Anyway, I'll give it my best shot.
