Hi Dean:

This is Lee. I need an assist in consisting, as I've forgotten how to consist more than one locomotive, and to clear the consist at the end of a session. Any help in that would be appreciated.

Hi Dean,

That is a great suggestion.
How about incorporating some sessions into our Friday gatherings?

Members,

This is probably directed more towards the newer members, but it can

apply to anyone.

I am sorry that I haven't been able to be at the club for several

sessions, as I was hoping to provide assistance to those that received

some Christmas goodies and needed help setting up their new found equipment.

Are any of you interested in a couple hour clinic on basics, more

advanced and advanced stuff and setting up and/or repairing new or

existing equipment?

My thoughts were to discuss things from replacing wheel sets and

couplers to basic programming of decoders. What do you do when the

trucks fall of a car and you can't find the pin or screw that secured

them. All sorts of tricks I have learned in my many years of modeling.

Here is an example:

I recently was working with and 89' TOFC flat car. It appeared to be

warped. I thought it contained a piece of flat steel that needed to be

bent slighly to get the end down to the proper level. Wrong. The

piece of metal was a cast type of metal and I completely snapped the

entire car in half when trying to bend it. . Oh #@%&#@, now what to

do. Well, to make a long story short, it is repaired and will be back

in service. It will always have to carry a couple of trailers to hid

part of the repair, but it should give good service. These kinds of

situations you learn from over time.

I can help you with any problem you may have encountered and we can

figure out a repair or ???? what ever needs to be done. We can

discusss tools and parts you should start collectiing, ie, screws,

drills, etc. I can bring all sorts of examples.

Anyone interested in such a clinic. Let me know.

You can reply directly to me at lewis2 at earthlink.net if you wish

or just reply to this e-mail.

Dean
