Tony,

Nice boxes.  They look great.   Here is another idea and is less 
work.    I use boxes that are designed for baseball, football, 
basketball, etc trading cards.   They work really well for Atlas and 
Kato locos kept in their original boxes.  They would also work well for 
other brands with foam inserts like you made.

This box doesn't have the nice fit over top like yours.   The card shop, 
next to Al's Hobbies Unlimited, says this is the new style.  I have some 
card boxes that have fit-over sides like yours and prefer them if I can 
find them.
I think he charged me $5.00 each and as you can see hold 4 locos in 
their boxes.   Unfortunately Athearn and many others as well as some of 
the sound units come in much larger boxes and the locos would have to be 
removed from the boxes and foam pieces  would have to be used in this 
style of card box for storage or transportation.

Internet look-up shows much higher cost unless you go bulk.
