Calling all HO members:

 

As most of you know the Fair starts on the 15th of June and runs thru July
4.  Normally, I take a week of vacation to run trains and get burned out.
This year Dean and I will be going to the Santa Fe convention in Wichita,
Kansas so will be leaving on the 18th and returning on the 26th.  John
Kolberg will also be gone during that time thru the last weekend of the
fair.  Our trip to Kansas will take us back to where we grew up and we're
getting there on the Southwest Chief.  It's a rare opportunity for us to
make this trip.  So, the three of us will not be running trains for that
period of time.  I'm asking for the other members to step up and go the
extra mile if possible to cover sufficient shifts during our absence so the
trains keep rolling.  The fair event is how we earn our keep with the fair
and with the change in the view outside our front door, we are likely to get
more visibility and visitors this year than ever before.  We need to put on
a good show.  The sign up sheets for the fair and the car show in early June
will go up next Friday at the latest.  Please sign up as early as possible.
Jere, as assistant trainmaster will need your help while we are gone.  I'm
sure we can do this if everyone chips in.  Thanks in advance.
